General Rules

NCCC Rules
The seven low speed events, & seven high speed events are NCCC sanctioned. NCCC rules will be followed with respect to classes, points, trophies and tech inspection. The experience of drivers varies significantly, even within an NCCC class. Therefore, you will be placed in a run group based on your experience and previous lap times at BIR or equivalent times at other road course tracks. This grouping will be used for Friday practice. Fridays run groups will be assigned to allow for cars with two drivers. Run groups for Saturday and Sunday are based on NCCC classes with an entire class in a group. Trophies and NCCC points will be awarded based on NCCC class. Trophies will also be presented for a “guest class” which includes Corvettes not conforming to NCCC rules and non-Corvettes.

Closed Exhaust Event
This is a CLOSED EXHAUST event. A decibel limit of 94, measured by SCCM’s decibel meter, will be the maximum allowable. If you are over the decibel limit you will not run. Have your decibel level checked before you arrive at BIR. At BIR, the final determination will be by Warren Snyder, event chairman and BIR’s Track Manager.

High Speed Certification
Bring your certification with you to Tech.
You must be high speed certified to participate in NCCC classes on Sunday. If you have any questions on NCCC high speed certification, contact your club Governor. NCCC high speed certification is also required for participation in Friday’s practice. If in doubt whether you can participate, contact the event Chairperson.

Tech Inspection
“If the tech inspector ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”
All cars must pass Tech Inspection. Tech will be open on Friday from 6:30AM to 6:00PM, Saturday from 6:30AM to 12:00noon and 3:30PM to 5:00PM, Sunday from 6:30AM to 9:00am. Tech will be available to re-tech any car which has gone four wheels off the track. Review the NCCC rulebook; be sure your car is in compliance with the rules.
When you arrive at Tech, your car should be ready to run. All loose items must be removed from your car. Bring your helmet. Any changes to your car after it is teched will result in disqualification.

Other General Rules

Cars participating in Friday’s practice and Sunday’s NCCC sanctioned high speed events must have a fire extinguisher securely mounted with a minimum rating of 5BC. Your car must have all the safety equipment that is required by your NCCC class.

Helmets need to have a minimum Snell 2000 rating. Please bring your own helmet. SCCM will have some loaner helmets but they may become hard to come by when needed.

When you come up to the start line, you must be prepared to run. If you do not start when the starter indicates, you will receive a DNF for that run. No exceptions. NCCC rules require that when you are on the race track, other than during practice or a timed run, the speed limit is 35mph. Exceed that and you will receive a DNF. Driving on the front straight (pit in to pit out) on Saturday will disqualify you for the balance of the day. The speed limit in the paddock is 10mph. There will be many spectators, including children, in the paddock so please be extremely careful.

Driver meetings are MANDATORY. They are at 7:30AM, sharp, each day (Sat. drags drivers meeting is at 12:00noon). All drivers must be there to receive a run sticker for the day or you will not run. There will be additional rules and instructions discussed at each meeting that you must know.

The entire paddock at BIR is blacktopped. If you will be using a trailer, ramps, car jack, floor jack, jack stands or anything that could dig into or leave and indentation in the surface your MUST place something (steel plate, plywood, etc.) under the item.

Driver Clothing: cotton clothing, tie shoes, No shorts, No tank tops.

If you have any questions, contact: Warren Snyder @ 952-920-0713
