2009 Fall Color Run
SUBURBAN CORVETTES OF MINNESOTA
2009 FALL COLOR RUN
The annual event started on Friday Oct 9th at the Bungalow Restaurant in Lakeland. About 60 people ate lunch before we left there with 65 Corvettes in a caravan. After a short run through the Wisconsin countryside, most stopped for a break at the Pickle Factory in Pepin, WI. Then it was on to the LaCrosse/Onalaska area.
Friday night at the Midway Hotel in LaCrosse there was a PARTY. Hors d’oeuvres, soft drinks and beer were consumed in great quantities. We met up with old friends, met some new ones, danced and had a great time.
Saturday morning was cold and brisk, but we missed out on the snow. We were lucky. There were 212 Corvettes that left T. Rowe Park in Onalaska. With the help of the Onalaska Police Department we made it out of Onalaska to begin the Fall Color Run. The route took us through the Mindoro Cut and down to the Firehouse Restaurant in Viroqua. After a great lunch, the Corvettes started back to LaCrosse. Saturday night was the banquet and a party afterward.
Sunday’s brunch at Cedar Creek Golf Club was again outstanding. By noon everyone was heading back home on a cool day but with lots of sun.
Next years Fall Color Run is October 8, 9, 10, 2010. We hope to see everyone there.
